Fulgur Limited is an independent publishing company committed to producing books of the highest possible quality in the esoteric genre. Founded during the late summer of 1992 by Hayley Tong, Gavin W. Semple and Robert Ansell, Fulgur was conceived to provide a nexus between the creative current that informs the work of Austin Osman Spare and modern collectors and students of the occult. Since those early days, support and encouragement from our loyal subscribers has helped in the birth of many fascinating titles.

One of our key founding aims was to produce talismanic books with a strong emphasis on traditional values. Design and typographic clarity are therefore important to us, as is the quality of materials we use. Whenever possible our titles are printed on papers with a high rag content and free of optical brightening agents, offering customers excellent archival stability. In addition, our books are always sewn and never simply glued or wire stitched. From the beginning our signed special editions have been hand-bound in the finest morocco and vellum available, often protected with a hand-made slipcase.

Originally established to promote the work of the artist and psychic Austin Osman Spare, Fulgur has grown to represent some of the most respected authors in the genre today, including Kenneth & Steffi Grant, Rev. Michael P. Bertiaux and the late Andrew D. Chumbley. With many new titles ahead we hope to continue our endeavours with your steadfast support.
