Ellen Hausner

All Artists & Writers

Ellen Hausner studied painting, drawing, and printmaking at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Student’s League in New York. Her artwork explores the ephemeral and the unseen, giving form to the forces of nature which cannot be visualised directly. A constant sense of the sacred permeates her work, which explores the themes of evolution, transformation, and transmutation. Her interests include traditional witchcraft, the Golden Dawn, and Rosicrucianism. Now working for the Bodleian Library in Oxford, she has previously worked at Oxford University Press; at Vattumannen Bokhandel, the central esoteric bookstore in Stockholm; and in the Alexander Calder Foundation archive in New York. She has also worked as a paper conservator. Her work and more information can be seen on her website ellenhausner.com
